Deploy on Friday

Some people fear deploying on Fridays. It mostly stems from fear. What happens if something goes wrong, and then I have to fix it on the weekend?

The thing is, if your system is in that state, not deploying on Fridays isn’t going to help much.

Feel the fear. Be mindful of what you’re afraid of.

Then there’s the crucial step. Go fix those things.

“But Ethan, we have product to ship.”

I know. The thing that makes you afraid of deploying on Fridays is also the thing that makes your product development slow.

The only way to fix that is to lean into it. Face those dragons. Slay them. Get help if you need it.
